Michelle LaMendola, ANP- C

Michelle has enjoyed providing nursing care for 30 years and practicing medicine for 20 years. She attended Texas Tech University completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing receiving her RN in 1993. After moving from Texas to Phoenix in 1995, Michelle worked in the transplant unit and Neuro ICU at Good Samaritan Banner. In 1999, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing receiving her NP from Arizona State University.

She started her first NP job at McDowell Health Care treating HIV/AIDS, opportunistic infections and primary care. Michelle also worked in HIV/AIDS clinical trials as a sub­ investigator from 1999 – 2003. She then took a job with Bristol-Myers Squib in virology but missed patient care and returned to work as a NP. Michelle is a compassionate provider who focuses on disease prevention and health promotion. She specializes in internal medicine, HIV/AIDS medicine, and Transgender care. Michelle has also provided in home care for the elderly and patients who are unable to leave their home for medical care. Michelle is nationally certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.

Michelle became a nurse to help and care for people with HIV/AIDS. As Michelle followed Ryan White in the news as a young girl, his braveness and strength encouraged and guided Michelle to follow her dreams. She built her career as a registered nurse and ultimately as a nurse practitioner so she could deliver the best care and treatment to her patients.

Michelle fell in love with the blooming desert, gorgeous mountains and beautiful sunsets in Arizona. She enjoys the diverse terrain throughout the state and loves to hike. She and her husband have twins – one boy and one girl. Their family spends time relaxing at the beach, skiing slopes and cooking Italian recipes.
